A year and 10 days after I arrived, the Chilean Navy brought my friend Patti. We stayed together for a month on the island. She thought the first days would be almost silent as I got used to being with another person, but from the moment she arrived I barely shut up. I had so much to say. It was wonderful to share my world with her, but I was also sorry to say goodbye to solitude.
